The only reason I never vote on the monthly voting anymore is because I don't feel like I watch and play enough flash entries to vote fairly. I often always missed some flashes when voting and if I knew how good a certain flash was (or if it even existed), I would have voted for it instead of some other flashes in previous votings. If I did vote for July's best, I would have definitely voted on The Mascot.

I did give yours a high ranking in my judgment so atleast it's not my fault.

I actually come on Newgrounds everyday for a decent amount of time. It's just that I don't watch that many newer flash submissions since most of them are just not worth watching. Jerry is an awesome flash movie though. When that flash first came out, I made a ton of topics about it on multiple forums because it's that awesome. If my favorites were more accurate, it would probably be higher up on the list.

Let me just say from personal experience, that popularity depends on demographics. The demographics of Newgrounds is not the same as you might find at a film festival where I think something like this could do very very well. You are a talented animator and there is nothing wrong with this film. It just did not fit wiht Newgrounds. Keep in mind (because it used to bother me) that most NG viewers are not animation-savy. They are young, and they like to be entertained. They also like to stand behind something they think-may be popular rather than something really original.

Anyway, sorry you feel that way. I did too for a while. But you either have to accept it, move on, or work to change it (like I am trying to do)

Had it been about Mario Newgrounds would actually vote on it. Look at super mario bros z. Sucks ass and makes it.

I don't really think newgrounds is the place for CGI films like this one. They are too easy to impress with and would overshadow flash movies. Newgrounds would turn into atomfilms. The idea of NG is that anyone can make and submit movies easily.
You shouldn't have to learn Maya (not to mention afford it) to keep up.

That said, I enjoyed the movie. Maybe you should submit it to atomfilms or a short film portal?
